kuwaittimes.net KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Municipal Affairs Dr Fadhel Safar announced yesterday that municipality teams will deal with advertisement violations and damage to state property before Eid Al-Adha.
Safar explained in a press statement that the municipality would remove illegal advertisements pertaining to the sale and slaughter of sheep and those expressing Eid greetings, affirming that such steps are necessary to prevent violations committed against consumers and to state property.
Municipality teams have already reportedly removed 356 billboards and have confiscated approximately 565 CDs related to illegal advertisements. Teams also confiscated and destroyed 567 kilograms of spoiled food at a Shuwaikh store, recently.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Municipality is interested in providing residents with healthy food but also in promoting a culture of healthy nutrition among youths, municipality Director-General Ahmed Al-Sabeeh explained on Saturday.
In a press statement, Al-Sabeeh noted that the efforts are underway to promote nutrition awareness among youths and students. He also added that the municipality wishes to educate its citizens on healthy methods of preserving food, and intends to hold seminars and educational campaigns to achieve such ends.
Meanwhile Eid Al-Semmari, in charge of inspection and municipal services of the municipal branch at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, indicated that there is regular and continuous cooperation between the municipality and the Ministry of Health. Monthly meetings are held between officials of the municipality and the ministry to inspect the quality of food provided to students at schools, Al-Semmari explained. - KUNA
