Ministries study proposal
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) has forwarded several letters to the ministries and other authorities in the country over the last weeks, requesting the implementation of a proposal on requiring the expatriates to get a clearance from the ministry before traveling out of Kuwait to ensure the collection of unpaid energy bills, reports Al-Shahid daily quoting sources.
Sources said the ministry stressed in its letters the need to prevent any expatriate from traveling unless they obtain a clearance showing that they have no outstanding energy bills. Sources explained the ministry took this step after discovering many expatriates have left the country for good without paying their water and electricity bills. Sources confirmed the ministries and other government institutions, which received the letters, are currently studying the request. arabtimesonline.com
