MoH to employ 2,000 new employees
KUWAIT: The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Ibraheem Al-Abdulhadi, recently said that the 2,000 employees nominated by the Civil Service Commission for positions at the Ministry of Health was composed mostly of nurses. However, the new employees also include a number of physicians and technicians, he said.
Al-Abdulhadi maintained that the 2,000 employees were nominated following a request from the ministry to fill open positions at medical centers throughout Kuwait. The need for the new employees also falls in line with government plans to expand medical services in Kuwait.
The deputy minister also said that priority will be given to Kuwaiti applicants if they meet necessary requirements, adding that a number of them who have taken tests are only waiting for their results before they can be officially appointed, Al-Qabas reported.
In regard to a recent visit by a medical team from Harvard University to Kuwait, Al-Abdulhadi said that the ministry will not issue any decisions regarding contracts with the team for hospital administration until Minister Dr. Helal Al-Sayer returned from a business trip to the United States. Dr Al-Sayer is touring a number of hospitals in the US as part of development plans for Kuwaiti hospitals.
